The Garden City Junior Firefighter Program serves as the Garden City Fire Departments Youth Group, providing the youth of Garden City the opportunity to experience what it is like to be a member of a volunteer fire department. Through exposure to the different activities, training’s and social aspects, Juniors begin to understand the benefits of making this choice. Upon graduation from high school, many of our junior firefighters go on to join the ranks of the department Membership in the organization affords a young man or woman many benefits
JOINING THE GARDEN CITY JUNIOR FIRE DEPARTMENT: Membership in the juniors is open to anyone age 14-17 and residency in the Village of Garden City is not required. You can come down to Fire Headquarters on any Monday night to speak with an advisor or you may contact us in the chief’s office at 465-4130 and leave a message. Training sessions are usually held bi-weekly on Thursday evenings.
