The Garden City Fire Department has a long history of serving this community. Our members are extremely dedicated, and live up to the motto of "Neighbors Helping Neighbors". Our members come from all walks of life. We are always looking for new members to assist us in serving the community, and we welcome you to visit or call us to find out more information about how you can be a part of our team. As a member, you will receive expert training at the Nassau County Fire Service Academy in Old Bethpage. In addition, we will also provide specialized training in CPR, Fire Aid as well as sponsor you for a New York State Emergency Medical Technician course at one of three EMS Academies in Nassau County.. This will not only help you become a better firefighter or medical technician, but can also help you earn the credentials needed to start in the emergency service industry. It is not un common for volunteer firefighters to use this "free" training and certification they can receive as a stepping stone to a full time career in the police, fire and EMS fields.
