Fire Headquaters is staffed with 2 Fire Engines, 2 Ladder Trucks, 1 Heavy Rescue Truck & 2 Utility Vehicles. Garden City Fire Headquarters is manned 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by career firefighters. During the weekday, Fire Headquarters is manned by a career Captain, 2 Career Lieutenants & 3 Career Firefighters. During the evening hours, and on the weekends,Fire Headquarters is manned by 1 career Lieutenant & 2 Career Firefighters. These career Firefighters are responsible for operating the 1st line Engine & the 1st line Ladder Truck. The volunteers of the Garden City Fire Department are responsible for operating the 1st line Heavy Rescue Truck, the 2nd line Engine & the 2nd line Ladder Truck. The 2nd line apparatus respond to all mutual aid calls, multiple calls and special calls as request by the incident commander.
