Captain Robert Horvath
Truck Company
Captain Horvath has been a member of the Garden City Fire Department since 2006. During Captain Horvath’s tenure in the fire department, he has served in both the Truck and Engine Companies. Captain Horvath is a New York State Certified Emergency Medical Technician, and has received New York State Certification in areas including: Vehicle Extrication, Hazardous Materials and as a Motor Pump Operator. Captain Horvath has also trained extensively in Vehicle Extrication, Rapid Intervention, Long Island Railroad Safety and Awareness, Emergency Vehicle Operations. Captain Horvath has achieved New York State Firefighter 1 certification. Captain Horvath is certified in Federal NIMS Emergency Management with certification in IS-100 Introduction to the Incident Command System, IS-200 Incident Command System For Single Resources and Initial Action Incidents, IS-700 National Incident Management System and IS-800 National Response Plan. Captain Horvath is also a qualified operator of the Heavy Rescue apparatus. Captain Horvath is a graduate of John Jay College where he received his Bachelor of Science Degree.

Lieutenant Vincent DeJoseph
Engine Company
Lieutenant DeJoseph has been a member of the Garden City Fire Department since 2006. During Lieutenant DeJoseph’s tenure in the fire department he has served as a member of Engine Company. Lieutenant DeJoseph has received New York State Certification in areas including: Vehicle Extrication, Hazardous Materials, Incident Safety Officer and as a Motor Pump Operator. Lieutenant DeJoseph has also completed extensive training in Vehicle Extrication, Rapid Intervention, Department Operations & Tactics. Lieutenant DeJoseph is certified at Federal NIMS Emergency Management level receiving certification in IS-100 Introduction to the Incident Command System, IS-200 Incident Command System For Single Resources and Initial Action Incidents, IS-700 National Incident Management System and IS-800 National Response Plan. Lieutenant DeJoseph is a qualified operator of both the Heavy Rescue and Engine apparatus. Lieutenant DeJoseph has also been appointed to various committees assignments in the Garden City Fire Department, including our Membership Committee, where he works diligently in recruiting new volunteer firefighters to the department. Lieutenant DeJoseph also received his Bachelor of Science Degree from Adelphi University.
